Work Place 101

This post is dedicated to everyone who has working experience. You may be climbing the corporate ladder, slogging it out in your blue-collared uniform, pocketing easy money from the powers that be, or just hatching some grand money-making scheme in your grey matter.

Whatever it is that you do for a living (or for the fun of it), you would have encountered the experience of working with people. You may be working with only 1 person, or the entire conglomerate across the globe. And when you and others work together towards a goal, this process is called teamwork.

Effective communication then becomes the key to getting messages across loud and clear to the whole team. It helps avert missed deadlines, wrong results, or system breakdown.

So sometimes you may be lucky enough to have teammates who share the same work principle, drive and enthusiasm as yourself to see a project from start to finish.

But what do you do if you're not so lucky? What can you do to improve the situation when the team isn't working as a team?

I'd love to hear from you guys... please drop me your comments. Thanks!

Another One Bites the Dust

I just heard about Colin McRae's fatal helicopter crash over the radio. I can't believe the great Scot rally driver has died... along with his 5-year old son Johnny.

Pic taken from here.

Argh...!!! Why are news of air crashes coming in just days before my trip??

One-Two-Crash!!!

Budget airlines has been sprouting in Southeast Asia and beyond thanks to AirAsia's success story. Fierce competition arises as these companies strive to level operational costs with high passenger traffic volume + low fares, and hope to make decent profits along the way.

Sometimes somehow, unfortunately, things can go wrong. It can be as simple as negligence, taking shortcuts, unethical moves, etc. Or it can be as serious as a plane crash.

What exactly happened? Was it the bad weather? Was it the pilot's error? Was there something wrong with the plane? Or was it sheer bad luck?

I shudder at this thought. I fly frequently for business trips, always on MAS, SIA or Thai Airways. But next week I'm going away for a short holiday and I'm flying AirAsia. I cross all my fingers and toes that my flights will be safe and that I will return home safely.

Welcome to The Bigger Fool, where I blog for money.

If you can't stand the idea of reading blogs written with the motive of earning some moolah behind the scene, please stop reading and surf another web page.

If you're intrigued with what I have to say, then read on and you might find yourself a little more enlightened. :-p
